How to Replace Shdoclc Dll
1. Launch your default Web browser and navigate to the download location for a replacement copy of shdoclc.dll. A link to this location can be found in the Resources section below.
2. Click the download link and select 'Save File' from the options in the dialog box that pops up.
3. Double-click the zipped file after it finishes downloading to launch Winzip or your computer's default unzipping utility. Click the 'Extract' button in Winzip or give the equivalent command in your default program, and select the desktop as the location to which the .dll file should be extracted.
4. Right-click the 'Start' button in Windows and select 'Explore' from the options that pop up to open Windows Explorer. In the left panel of Explorer, navigate to the system folder for your version of Windows. If you're using a 32-bit version of Windows XP or Vista, this folder is located at 'C:\Windows\System32.' If you're using 64-bit Windows XP or Vista, it's 'C:\WindowsSysWOW64.' In Windows 2000 and NT, the path is 'C:\WINNT\System32.' Finally, in Windows 95 and 98, it's 'C:\Windows\System.'
5. Left-click the system folder in the left panel once to display all of its contents in the right panel, then drag and drop the schdoclc.dll file on your desktop into the right panel of Explorer.
6. Click 'Replace' or 'Yes' when asked whether or not you want to replace the existing shdoclc.dll file with the new one. Once you've done this, the new, working version of the file should be active immediately.
