How to Replace Ole32.dll
1. Open your Web browser. Navigate to a site where you can download a free, working copy of ole32.dll. You can find a link to one of these download locations in the Resources section below.
2. Click the download link and follow the on-screen prompts to save the file to your hard drive. Once the download has completed, double-click the file to open it in the program your computer uses to open ZIP files. Click the 'Extract' or 'Unzip' button and follow the on-screen prompts to extract the file to your computer's desktop.
3. Double-click the 'My Computer' icon and navigate to your computer's Windows system folder. This can be found at 'C:\Windows\System32' in 32-bit XP and Vista, 'C:\Windows\SysWOW64' in 64-bit XP and Vista, 'C:\WINNT\System32' in Windows 2000 and NT and 'C:\Windows\System' in Windows 95, 98 and ME.
4. Drag the ole32.dll file on your desktop into the system folder. You might see a dialog box that says an existing file of the same name is already in the folder. If you see this, choose the option to replace the file.
5. Restart Windows. There are no other special installation steps, but Windows won't recognize the new .dll until after you reboot.
