How to Replace Gdi32.dll

1. There are two methods to replace your GDI. The first method is manual. Begin by downloading the gdi32.dll. Shut down your computer. Boot into safe mode by repeatedly tapping the F8 button while booting your computer. When your computer boots into safe mode, search the 'C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386' folder in your computer and find the 'gdi32.dll' file and rename it 'gdi32.dll.old' by right-clicking the file and selecting rename. Cut and paste the newly downloaded 'gdi32.dll' to where you found the old one. Shut down your computer.
2. Reboot once again but make sure your Windows XP Install CD is in your optical drive. When your system bios appears, click either F10 or F12 to enter boot options. Choose your CD-ROM drive where you just entered your XP install disc. When you are greeted with the welcome screen, press the 'R' key to enter the recovery console. When the command prompt appears, type:COPY 'C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386\Gdi32.dll' 'C:\Windows\System32\Gdi32.dll'Press enter to confirm and reboot one more time to complete the process.
3. The automatic procedure for replacing your gdi32.dll file is very simple. Download the self-extracting file and double-click it. Follow the on-screen instructions and you will complete the automatic process. Your computer will reboot automatically and, like magic, you have upgraded and replaced your gdi32.dll file.
