How to Stop Errors in Laptops

1. Read the error on your screen. Take note of the troubleshooting tips in the error window if there are any available. If you are receiving an 'illegal operation' error when trying to run a program, close the program immediately, as it may already be corrupted. If you need the program badly, uninstall and reinstall it to the computer.
2. Determine if the error is caused by data that cannot be read from a source. If you just inserted a CD or DVD into your optical drive and the error pops out every time you try to read the media, the CD or DVD may be dirty or the data saved in it is corrupted. Remove the optical media, place another data disc into the CD/DVD-ROM and see if it is read by the computer.
3. Run a computer scan using your anti-virus software. If you do not have one installed, download one from the Internet, and make sure that the utility is always updated. Viruses and malware can alter data in your computer, causing programs to malfunction.
4. Make sure that you have enough memory in your computer if you are receiving an error that says 'out of memory' or 'not enough memory.' This error may arise whenever you try to install a program and your system does not meet the minimum memory requirements for the program to function properly. If you are sure that you have enough computer memory to run the program, try reinstalling it to the computer. Otherwise, consider upgrading your computer memory or uninstall other programs that are no longer in use to give the new program space in your system.
