How to Manually Register OCX

1. Place the OCX file in your %WINDIR%\System32 directory. You can open this by clicking 'Start,' 'Run' and typing in the command, or from an Explorer window.
2. Click 'Start' and type 'CMD' on the Run menu. Access this by clicking 'Run' on Windows 2003 or earlier, or typing the command into the Start Menu's 'Search' bar on Vista or later.
3. Type the command 'Regsvr32 <ocx file name>' without quotes. Replace <ocx file name> with the filename of your OCX file, such as WinAPIEXT.ocx. You will receive a pop-up to tell you the file has been registered.
