8. Return to the “Start” menu and click “Computer” again. Double-click the “C:” drive, go to “Users,” double-click the folder of the user account on which the Dll file was downloaded and double-click the “Downloads” folder. Drag and drop each of the files from the “Downloads” folder to the external hard drive folder.
9. Remove the external hard drive from the computer where you downloaded the System32.dll file and plug it into the computer that is missing the System32.dll file. If the external hard drive folder doesn’t automatically open, go to “Start>Computer” and double-click the drive to open it. Open the computer’s “Start” menu. Go to “Computer>C:>Windows>System32” to open the “System32” folder. Drag the System32.dll file from the external hard drive window into the “System32” folder. How to Repair a Corrupt DLL

1. Read the error message you computer gives you, when it fails to run the DLL. The message will likely say something like, 'This application failed to start because something.dll was not found or dll file is missing.' Even if the DLL exists, it'll give you such an error if it's corrupted. Write down exactly what it says.
2. Visit a DLL download website (see Resources) and search the site for the DLL mentioned in the error message. Most DLLs are quite common and are easily found online.
3. Download the DLL to the location of the old corrupted version on your hard drive. If your error message gave you a specific file path, save it there. Otherwise, it belongs in either the folder of the program that failed to run because of it, or in C:\Windows\System32. Check both locations for the corrupted file and overwrite it with the new, untarnished version.
4. Restart the program that encountered the error, to try out the repaired DLL. If it was some component of the operating system that alerted you to the problem, rather than an installed application, restart your computer.

1. Open your Web browser. Browse to a page where you can download a working version of msvcr70.dll for free. You can find a link to one of these pages in Resources, but there are several sites that offer these common .dll files for download.
2. Click the download link and follow the on-screen prompts to save the file to your hard drive. Make sure you know the destination directory to which the file is being downloaded.
3. Locate the downloaded file and check to see if it is a .dll file or a .zip file. If it is a .dll, skip the rest of this step. If it is a .zip, like the files you can download through the site linked to in Resources, double-click the file to open it in the default program your computer uses to open .zip files. When this program opens, look for a button that says 'Extract,' 'Unzip' or 'Unpack' and click it. 4. Open the Windows system folder. To do this, double-click the 'My Computer' icon on the desktop, then double-click the 'C:' icon. If you're using Windows NT or 2000, double-click the 'WINNT' folder, but for all other versions of Windows, double-click the 'Windows' folder. Once inside this folder, double-click the 'SysWOW64' folder if you're using the 64-bit version of Windows XP or Vista, the 'System' folder if you're using Windows 95, 98 or ME, or the 'System32' folder if you're using any other version. This is the system folder.
5. Click and drag the msvcr70.dll file you downloaded or extracted into the Windows system folder. At this point, you may see a message stating that a file by that name already exists in the folder. If you see this, click the 'Yes' button when asked if you would like to replace the existing file with the new one.

How to Fix an Error 1628

Clean Installation Disc
1. Check the installation disc for any fingerprints, scratches or smudges. If the data is unable to be read from the disc, the 1628 error message may be generated.
2. Use a microfiber cloth lightly dampened with water to gently clean the disc. Wipe from the inside of the disc directly outwards, never in a circular pattern.
3. Attempt to reinstall the program after cleaning the disc. If the disc is clean and the error persists, there may be a problem with InstallShield.
Repair InstallShield
4. Disable running process of InstallShield. They may have crashed and need to be restarted. Access the task manager by pressing 'Ctrl+Alt+Del'and selecting task manager. Under the processes tab disable 'idriver.exe' and 'msiexec.exe.'
5. Navigate to 'C:\Program Files\Common Files.' Right click on the 'InstallShield' folder and select 'Rename.' Change the folder name to 'InstallShield1' and press enter to confirm it. Run the install again; Windows will attempt to reinstall the needed InstallShield files.
6. Download Windows Installer from Microsoft, if the install produced the 1628 error after renaming the InstallShield folder. The downloaded file will check that your version is up-to-date. Older versions may have latent bugs or errors and be incompatible with what you are trying to install.
7. Create a new user account with administrator rights. Log out of the current user account and into the new account. This will help eliminate any user rights conflicts that may be causing the 1628 error message.
8. Attempt to install the program again. If the 1628 error appears again, than there may be something wrong with the install medium such as a scratched and damaged disc or faulty reader. Alternatively, a corrupted file in the operating system or virus can also cause the 1628 error message.

How to Embed Video Without ActiveX

The block element's ID is 'videoBlock.' The button's ID is 'videoButton.' The 'videoBlock' element is a placeholder for the video. JavaScript code will place a video there when you click the button.
3. Add the following code below the document's '<title>' section:<script language='javascript' type='text/javascript'>var videoName = 'banner.swf';var videoHeight = '500';var videoWidth = '400';var testButton = 'videoButton';</script>This initializes the variables that determine the video player's height and width. The height and width in this example are 500 pixels and 400 pixels. You can set these values to anything you like. The code also sets the name of the video. Replace 'xyz.swf' with the name of any Flash video on your hard drive. If the video is on the Web, replace 'xyz.swf' with the video's URL.
4. Add this line of code below the code in the previous step:<script src='VideoCode.js' type='text/javascript'></script>This statement grabs an external JavaScript file named 'VideoCode.js' and makes it available in the current HTML page. That external JavaScript function contains the code that creates the video player.

This function uses the values for height, width and movie name set in the previous HTML document. The window.onload function sets up a button's click event. It uses the value for the button ID set in the previous HTML document. The click event causes a button click to run the playVideo function.
8. Click 'FIle' and select 'Save As' to open the 'Save As' window.

How to Repair Window Frame Flashing

1. Remove the old window from the window frame per the manufacturer's instructions. Remove any screws or nails from the trim. Pry the trim off with a pry bar.
2. Remove any other nails and screws around the window, if necessary. Peel back the old flashing and remove it from the window if necessary. Remove the old window out of the window hole. In some cases, you may have to peel back the siding slightly to remove the window.
3. Remove the pan flashing if the leak is occurring around the bottom of the window. Use the old piece of pan flashing as a guide. Cut a new piece of pan flashing with a utility knife. Install the pan flashing where the old pan flashing was. Peel the back of the pan flashing off slowly as you install it. The bottom piece should overlap the window jamb by at least a few inches and should run over the edge of the outside sill by at least an inch or two.
4. Measure the height of the window. Add approximately 6 to 12 inches to the measurement. Cut flashing to length for both sides of the window with a utility knife. Apply flashing to the sides of the window. Overlap the jamb a few inches on each side. Both the bottom and top of the membrane should run past the bottom and top of the window. Try to extend the top and bottom of the flashing at least 3 to 4 inches longer than the window if possible. This precaution will help keep water from getting in the window. Use the utility knife to remove any excess.
5. Measure the inside, bottom corners of the window. Cut a piece of flashing membrane to fit into each corner. Apply the flashing in each corner over the seam where the larger pieces of flashing meet. The flashing patches should overlap the other pieces. This process will help reduce the chance of leakage.
6. Measure the width of the window. Add 6 to 12 inches to the measurement. Cut a piece of flashing to length using a utility knife. Apply the flashing to the top of the window. The flashing should overlap both sides. Cut the flashing in the corners. Fold the membrane over until it sticks to the inside of the window frame.
7. Install the window per the manufacturer's instructions.
