How to Fix a Fatal Error in DotA

1. Visit the official 'DotA' website (see Resource section) to ensure that you download a clean copy of the latest version. Download it to a location of your choice and unzip the folder via WinZip or WinRar. Highlight the 'DotA' map file, right-click and then click on the 'Copy' option.
2. Open up your 'Warcraft III' maps folder. The default location for this is 'C:\Program Files\Warcraft III\Maps.' If you installed 'Warcraft III' to a custom directory, you need to visit the place you chose to install it in to find your 'Maps' folder.
3. Right-click an empty space in the 'Maps' folder, right-click and click on the 'Paste' button. If a dialogue box opens asking if you want to replace currently existing files, click the 'Yes' button. Your fresh copy of 'DotA' will now be in the correct location and you are ready to log onto Battle.net and begin playing. If you are still experiencing fatal errors, try reinstalling 'Warcraft III.' The problem could possibly be a faulty install of the game itself.
