How to Install IIS on XP Home for SP3


1. From the Start menu open 'Control Panel.' Click 'Add or Remove Programs.'
2. On the left side of the window, click 'Add/Remove Windows components.' Scroll down in the list to find 'Internet Information Services (IIS).' Click the check box to the left of this name.
3. Click 'OK' and 'Next' to install IIS. Insert your Windows XP Home edition installation disc when the installer prompts you to. Click 'Finish' when the installation is complete.
4. Open the IIS program by clicking the Start menu and opening 'Control Panel.' Click 'Performance and Maintenance' and 'Administrative Tools.' Double-click 'Internet Information Services.'
5. Click the '+' to the left of the name of your computer. Do the same for 'Websites' and 'default website.'
6. Change the website using the files in this directory. The default website files are located in 'C:\Inetpub\wwwroot.' The homepage is 'iisstart.htm.'
