How to Repair Hal.Dll


1. Insert a Windows CD into your computer's drive. Restart the computer and press any key when you are prompted to boot from the CD-ROM drive.
2. Press 'R' when the option to load the 'Recovery Console' is presented. Type the number that corresponds to the Windows installation with the Hal.dll error; the first choice is generally the correct option unless you have multiple operating systems installed on your machine. Type the administrator password or just press 'Enter' if the system does not have an administrator password enabled.
3. Allow the command line interface to load. Input the command 'Attrib -H -R -S C:\Boot.ini' and press 'Enter.' Type each of the following commands and press 'Enter' after each one.'DEL C:\Boot.ini''BootCfg /Rebuild''Fixboot'
4. Open the CD drive and remove the CD-ROM. Type the command 'exit' and press 'Enter' to restart the computer.
