How to Install ActiveX on Windows XP Pro


1. Launch Internet Explorer. Hit the Start button and select 'All Programs.' Scroll up to find the menu command for 'Internet Explorer.' Click on it.
2. Log on to any website that uses ActiveX. Almost all major news, sports and social media websites require ActiveX.
3. Wait till Internet Explorer displays the following message on a yellow information bar: 'Pop-up blocked. To see this pop-up or additional options click here...'
4. Click on the information bar. Select 'Install ActiveX Control.' Follow the on-screen prompts to finish the installation.
5. Click on 'Tools' on the top menu and select 'Internet Options.'
6. Click on the 'Security' tab, and hit the 'Custom Level' button.
7. Scroll down the list to find the ''ActiveX controls and plug-ins' subheading. Enable the following controls: 'ActiveX controls and plug-ins', 'Allow previously unused ActiveX', 'Automatic prompting of ActiveX controls', 'Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins', 'Script ActiveX controls marked for scripting.'
8. Click on 'Apply' and hit 'OK.'
9. Relaunch Internet Explorer.

How to Locate Msvcp60


1. Click 'Start.'
2. Click inside the 'Search' box. Type 'Msvcp60.dll.' This is the full file name and extension of the Msvcp60 file.
3. Right-click on the Msvcp60.dll file in the 'Search' results. Do not left-click on it. Doing this would open the program. Right-clicking on it brings up a new menu on screen.
4. Click 'Open File Location.' This will open the exact place where the file is located in a new Windows Explorer window. Look at the address bar at the top of the screen -- this will show you the exact location of Msvcp60.dll on the computer. If the file is located in 'C:/Program Files,' you likely have nothing to worry about. If the file is located in 'C:/Windows/System32,' the file may be malware and you should perform a virus scan on the computer.

How to Fix an Internet Explorer Malware Redirect


1. Download Avast! Home Edition Antivirus program from avast.com.
2. Install Avast! according to on-screen directions. Select 'Scan local drives' for Avast!, to scan all files and folders on the computer.
3. Click on 'Continue' if a virus or spyware alert pops-up. The infection will be quarantined so that you can deal with it once full scan is completed.
4. Select 'Options' menu once scan has stopped. Click on 'Virus chest' and then 'Infected Files.'
5. Repair infected .dll and operating files marked as 'system files' or kernels. Delete spyware marked as 'Trojan horse, malware, adware, cookies or spyware.'

How to Delete Flash 6 OCX


1. Click on the “Start” button located in the bottom-left corner of your desktop.
2. Click on the “Search” icon found in the \"Start\" menu and enter \"flash.ocx\". Write down the path name as you will need it later.
3. Click on the “Start” button and then click on “Run.”
4. Type in: “regsvr32 path name/file name/u\". Regsvr32 is the command that tells your computer to remove it from the registry. The path name tells your computer where the files is located. For example: “C:\\Windows\\System32\\MacromedFlash\\flash.ocx” is the most common pathway, but it may differ slightly on each computer. The file name is flash.ocx. You will be asked to confirm the registry removal; select \"Yes\" from the available options.
5. Click on the \"Search\" icon found in the \"Start\" menu and enter the file named \"enterflash.ocx\" and select it from the list. Highlight \"enterflash.ocx\" and press the \"Delete\" key. Select \"Yes\" when prompted to confirm moving it to the \"Recycle Bin.\" Repeat this same process for a file named swflash.inf.
6. Double-click on the \"Recycle Bin\" found on your desktop. Click on the \"File\" tab and \"Empty Recycle Bin\" to complete the operation.

How to Fix a Dll


1. Uninstall and reinstall the application that may be causing the error. To uninstall the application, click the Windows 'Start' button and click the 'Control Panel.' Double-click 'Add or Remove Programs' and click the program you want to uninstall. Click 'Remove/Uninstall.' Insert the installation disc and reinstall your program. If you downloaded the program from the Internet, navigate to the download page and download and reinstall the program.
2. Perform a System Restore, if you feel the dll error started right after you installed or uninstalled a certain program. To perform the restore, click the Windows 'Start' button and click 'All Programs.' Scroll up and click 'Accessories.' Click 'System Tools' and click 'System Restore.' Click 'Restore computer to an earlier time' and click 'Next.' Select the time to restore your computer to and click 'Next.' Click 'Next' again to restore your computer to the selected time.
3. Try downloading the missing dll if the system restore did not solve your dll problem. Navigate to websites such as DLL Files (see Resources) and download the missing dll file. When you download a missing dll file, it will automatically be installed to its default location.
4. Try using a registry fix and cleaner program if all else fails. These programs automatically search for missing or corrupt dll files in the registry and repair them easily. Download and install a free program such as CCleaner (see Resources).
5. Launch your program after it has installed and click the 'Registry' button on the left panel. Click 'Scan for issues.' CCleaner will scan for missing extensions and dll files. When the scan is complete, click 'Fix selected issues' and click 'Yes' to backup your registry. Click 'Fix all selected issues' and click 'Yes' to repair the missing dll file and extensions.

How to Fix a Windows XP Reboot Loop


1. Watch carefully as the computer starts up after a reboot. Select "Recovery Console" from the "Startup Options" list.
2. Install the Windows XP disk into the drive if "Recovery Console" is not listed in "Startup Options." Restart the computer. Follow the prompts and select "Repair" or "Recover."
3. Type the administrator password for the computer.
4. Type "cd system32" without quotes when the command prompt appears. Press "Enter," type "ren kernel32.dll kernel32.old" and press "Enter" again. Type "map" and press "Enter."
5. Type "expand d:\\i386\\kernel32.dl_" and press "Enter." If the Windows XP CD is inserted into a drive other than "D:" replace "D:" with the proper drive letter.
6. Type "exit" and press the "Enter" key. The computer will shut down and reboot again. Remove the Windows XP disk. The reboot loop should now be resolved.
