How to Fix an Error 1053


1. Download Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 (see the link in 'Additional Resources,' below). You will be asked if you want to save the file to the computer. Select 'Save File.' The service pack will now be downloaded onto the computer.
2. Open the downloaded icon (it will be on the desktop or in a Downloads window).
3. Follow the steps to complete the installation. Once the updated service pack is installed you should no longer see the Error 1053 message appear when you try to start, stop or pause a Windows service.

How to Fix ActiveX Error Problems on My Computer


1. Click the "Start" button and select "All Programs." Scroll up to find the shortcut for Internet Explorer. Click to launch the browser.
2. Click on the "Tools" and select "Internet Options."
3. Click on the tab titled "Security."
4. Find the "Custom Level..." button under the sub-heading "Security level for this zone."
5. Scroll down under the "Settings" subheading to find "ActiveX controls and plug-ins."
6. Scroll down further to find the contents under "ActiveX controls and plug-ins." Look for "Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins." Make sure it shows "Enabled." If it doesn't, be sure to change it to "Enabled."
7. Look for "Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting." It should be located right below "Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins." Make sure it also shows "Enabled." If it doesn't, make sure to change it to "Enabled."
8. Click "OK." Click "Apply." Close and re-launch Internet Explorer to complete the task. You should not find any ActiveX error messages. If you still do, click on the "Reset button" under "Reset Custom Settings" after finishing Step 4.

How to Fix Active X Conrol 429


1. Go to Microsoft's ActiveX runtime error 429 page (see Resources section).
2. Click the 'o9regfix.exe' link to download the 'Microsoft Office 2000/Windows 2000 Registry Repair Utility.'
3. Locate the downloaded file on your computer and double-click it to launch the utility.
4. Click the 'Yes' button when prompted if you want to run the registry repair.
5. Click the 'Yes' button to agree to the terms of use.
6. Allow the utility to fix any issues that it finds with your Microsoft Office 2000 registry. The utility will run in a black-and-white DOS window.
7. Click the 'OK' button when the registry utility has completed the repair. You may need to reboot your computer for the changes to take place.

How to Repair an NSIS Error


1. Go to "Start > Run." Type "cmd" into the search bar and hit "Enter." This will bring up a window with a black background.
2. Drag and drop the software setup .exe file that you want to install. For example, if you are trying to install Yahoo! Messenger, first download the Messenger program, then move the file (msgr10us.exe) into the black window.
3. Hit the spacebar on the keyboard. Type "/NCRC" after the setup file. For example, "msgr10us.exe /NCRC"." Hit "Enter" when you are done, and wait for the program to install.

How to Fix Rundll32 in Microsoft


Update NVidia Drivers
1. Click 'Start,' then 'Control Panel.' Click 'Switch to Classic View' in the left column of the Control Panel if the option is not currently selected.
2. Double-click 'System.'
3. Click the 'Hardware' tab, then click 'Device Manager.'
4. Double-click 'Display adapters' to expand the category, then double-click your NVidia graphics card, which will likely be labeled as a 'GeForce' card.
5. Click the 'Driver' tab, then click 'Update.' Allow Windows to search online for a newer driver, and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the driver process. Restart the computer.
Remove USB Devices
6. Find the 'Safely remove hardware' icon in the Windows XP system tray, and double-click it.
7. Highlight the USB device you wish to remove, then click 'Stop.'
8. Click 'OK.' Wait for Windows XP to eject the USB device.
9. Click 'OK' when Windows verifies that you may remove the hardware, then click 'Close.'
10. Unplug the USB device from your computer.
Replace the Rundll32.exe File
11. Insert your Windows XP installation disk. Close the setup window.
12. Click 'Start,' then 'Run.'
13. Type 'expand d:\i386\rundll32.ex_ c:\windows\system32\rundll32.exe' (without quotes). You must change the drive letter that corresponds with your CD/DVD drive if it is not 'd.'
14. Remove the Windows XP installation disk, and restart the computer.

How to Create Installation Files in Visual Basic 6


1. Complete all development work on the program including debugging and thoroughly testing it. Then click on 'File' and within the drop-down menu, chose the option beginning 'Make,' which should include the name of your project and the type, 'EXE.'
2. Save the EXE file created with a name of your choice in a folder dedicated to holding installation files. Test the executable version by locating it in Windows Explorer and double clicking on the file.
3. Click on 'Add-Ins' within the Visual Basic program while the programming project is open. Select 'Add-In Manager' and then 'Package and Deployment Wizard' in the drop down menu. Put a check in the 'Load Behavior' section where you see 'Loaded/Unloaded' by clicking on the box.
4. Click on the 'Package and Deployment Wizard' that will now show in the list of 'Add-Ins.' Save the program again as prompted, and then select the 'Package' option, which will be the first one showing in the wizard. This creates the installation files.
5. Follow the instructions in the Wizard to select a package type, which should be a 'Standard Setup Package,' creating a setup.exe program. Click 'Next' at the bottom of this screen. Continue clicking 'Next' at each following screen after reviewing the information. This will create a default setup file.

How Do You Turn on an Add

1. Open the Internet Explorer browser and click on 'Tools.'
2. Click on 'Manage Add-ons.' Under 'Show,' click 'All Add-ons' to display all of the currently installed add-ons.
3. Click on the add-on you want to enable. Click 'Enable.' When you are done, click 'Close.'
Mozilla Firefox
4. Open the Firefox web browser. Click on 'Tools.'
5. Click on 'Options.' Click on the 'General' tab.

Google Chrome

How to Check DLL Files


1. Click 'Start,' then 'All Programs.'
2. Click 'Accessories,' then right-click on 'Command Prompt.'
3. Click 'Run as administrator' from the pop-up menu. Click 'Allow' or type in an administrator password if prompted by the system.
4. Type 'sfc /scannow' at the command prompt, then press the 'Enter' key. The System File Checker will run. It will check for all missing and corrupted DLL files and replace them.

How to Fix Runtime Error 6


1. Click the desktop's 'Start' button and double-click the 'My Computer' icon.
2. Open the 'My Programs' folder (or the folder in which you downloaded Visual Studio to), locate the 'Visual Studio' folder, open it and find the file named 'vb5ide.dll.'
3. Right-click the 'vb5ide.dll' file and select the 'Properties' option. If the version states '5.00.4319' or lower, immediately download the Microsoft Visual Studio service pack 3 from the Microsoft download center (see Resource section).
4. Click on 'Save' and choose a destination for the executable file to download.
5. Locate the executable file, double-click on it and follow the instructional steps. Visual Studio will upgrade after the installation is completed. After this, runtime error 6 will be eliminated.

How to Install Missing DLL Files


1. Type the name of the missing DLL file into the DLL-Files search box (see Resources).
2. Click on 'Download.'
3. Click on 'Save As,' and save the file to the 'C:\Windows\System32' folder.
4. Hold down the Windows key and press 'R.' The Run box opens.
5. Type 'regsvr32 filename.dll' (without the quotation marks) into the Run box. Note that 'filename.dll' should be replaced with the name of the Dynamic Link Library (DLL) file that you just downloaded.
6. Click 'OK.' This will install the missing DLL file.

How to Fix OCX Errors


1. Close any running applications on your computer.
2. Click the Windows 'Start' button and then click the 'Search' icon. Click the 'All Files and Folders' link. Type 'flash.ocx' into the search box and click the 'Search' button.
3. Right-click the file named 'flash.ocx' if it appears. Select 'Delete' to remove the file. if more than one file with this name appears, right-click all such files and select 'Delete' to remove them.
4. Open the Recycle Bin and click the 'Empty the Recycle Bin' option if the 'flash.ocx' file is present. This will permanently erase the file.
5. Go to the 'flash.ocx' website linked in the Resources section below and download the file. Save the file to your 'C:\i386' folder.
6. Reboot your computer. Windows will find the new 'flash.ocx' file and the next time Flash runs in your Web browser, it should be error-free.

How to get Flying Model Simulator FMS to work on Windows Vista


1. Close Flying Model Simulator FMS if it's already open.
2. Find another computer that uses Windows XP.
3. Go to "Start > Search > For Files or Folders".
4. In the search box, type in "d3drm.dll" (without the quotes).
5. Next, click on "Search Now" or hit "Enter" to start the search.
6. If the "d3drm.dll" file is found, right-click on the file and choose "Copy".
7. Go to the Desktop and hold down "CTRL" and then press "V" on your keyboard.
8. The "d3drm.dll" file should now appear on the Desktop.
9. Next, copy the "d3drm.dll" file from the Desktop to a USB flash drive or you can e-mail the file to yourself.
10. Now, on the computer running Windows Vista, download the "d3drm.dll" file once again to the Desktop.
11. Right-click on the "d3drm.dll" file and choose "Copy".
12. If using Windows Vista 32-bit navigate to: C:\Windows\System32
If using Vista 64-bit, navigate to: C:\Windows\SysWOW64
13. Once you have navigated to either of the folders (depending upon your version of Windows Vista), hold down "CTRL" and then press "V" on your keyboard.
14. The "d3drm.dll" file should now appear in the folder.
15. That's it! Flying Model Simulator FMS should now work perfectly on Windows Vista!
