How to Fix Runtime Error 6

1. Click the desktop's 'Start' button and double-click the 'My Computer' icon.
2. Open the 'My Programs' folder (or the folder in which you downloaded Visual Studio to), locate the 'Visual Studio' folder, open it and find the file named 'vb5ide.dll.'
3. Right-click the 'vb5ide.dll' file and select the 'Properties' option. If the version states '5.00.4319' or lower, immediately download the Microsoft Visual Studio service pack 3 from the Microsoft download center (see Resource section).
4. Click on 'Save' and choose a destination for the executable file to download.
5. Locate the executable file, double-click on it and follow the instructional steps. Visual Studio will upgrade after the installation is completed. After this, runtime error 6 will be eliminated.
