How to Troubleshoot Msgina.dll Problems

1. Click 'Restart' in the 'Logon User Interface DLL Msgina.dll failed to load' window.
2. Press 'F8' as your computer restarts until the 'Windows Advanced Options' menu appears.
3. Select 'Last Known Good Configuration' using the arrow keys on your keyboard and press 'Enter.'
4. Download the MS04-003 security update installer from Microsoft (see Resources). Click 'Download the Update' on the webpage.
5. Open a Command Prompt window by clicking 'Start,' 'All Programs,' 'Accessories' and 'Command Prompt.'
6. Navigate to the directory containing the downloaded security update file by typing 'cd' followed by the name of the directory into the Command Prompt window and pressing 'Enter.' For example, if you downloaded it to the desktop, type 'cd Desktop' and press 'Enter.'
7. Install the security update using a different, unencrypted temporary files folder by typing 'ENU_Q832483_MDAC_x86.EXE /T:C:\alternate_temp' into the Command Prompt window and pressing 'Enter.' The installer completes normally using the alternate temporary file location.
