How to Install ActiveX Group Policy
1. Click the Windows Start button on your domain server. Select 'All Programs' and click 'Administrative Tools.' Click the 'Group Policy Editor' shortcut to open the console.
2. Click the plus sign next to 'User Configuration.' This expands a list of options. Click 'Administrative Templates' underneath the 'User Configuration' icon. Click 'Windows Components' and then click 'Internet Explorer.'
3. Double-click 'Run ActiveX controls and plugins' on the right side of the policy editor. This opens a dialog box. The default value is '1,' which means users can install and run ActiveX controls.
4. Change the default value from '1' to '0.' This disables the installation for ActiveX controls. Conversely, if the value is already set to '0,' you can set it to '1' to enable the ability. Click 'OK' to save your settings.
