How to Get Rid of an Error 48 on iTunes When Trying to Sync an iPod

1. Open iTunes and make sure that you are running the most current version. If there is an updated version available, download and install it and try to sync your iPod again.
2. Plug in your iPod and open iTunes. Verify that you have your current iTunes library backed up on your computer's hard drive. If you do not, take the time to back it up.
3. Click on your iPod icon on the left side of iTunes to go to the iPod summary page. On this page you have the option to restore your iPod to it's original state and also update it with the current version of software, if needed.
4. Select to restore your iPod. After your iPod is restored, sync your songs. You should not receive the Error 48 anymore.
