How to Fix 55.1 Error Message on HP LaserJet 2600

1. Turn off the LaserJet 2600 by pushing the power switch. Wait 30 seconds to a minute before powering the unit back on.
2. Watch the messages on the printer's control panel as the printer is warming up. There should be an initialization message as the printer warms up.
3. Look at the control panel on the printer. If the 55.1 error message has returned, power the printer off again, then unplug the power cord from the surge protector if one is being used. Plug the printer's power cord directly into the electrical outlet.
4. Keep the printer powered down for at least 30 seconds after it has been plugged into the wall outlet. Then power it back on and look at the control panel message.
5. Contact HP service if the 55.1 error message still appears. The 55.1 error message means that the printer has experienced a problem with the internal hardware. If the printer still has the error message after the reset, it will need to be serviced.
