How to Troubleshoot a Java Class Not Registered Error When Installing Printer HP

1. Unplug your printer from the USB port of your computer.
2. Click the 'Start' menu and select 'Control Panel.' Click 'Classic View' in the left pane. Double-click 'Add/Remove Programs' or 'Programs and Features.' Scroll down the list and locate the HP software that you use to operate your printer. Click the entry and select 'Uninstall.'
3. Locate 'J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6' in the list. Click it and select 'Uninstall.'
4. Download Java Microsoft Virtual Machine (see Resources). Note that the Microsoft Download Store does not have the setup file anymore. Click the link 'msjavx86-5.0.3810.0.zip.' Once the download is complete, double-click the zip file to extract its contents. Double-click the setup file 'msjavx86.exe' to start the installation process. Choose 'Yes' to agree to the license agreement. Ignore the prompt to restart the computer once the installation is complete.
5. Disable script debugging. Launch your Internet Explorer Web browser. Click 'Tools' and select 'Internet Options.' Click the 'Advanced' tab. Click to remove the checkmark next to 'Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer).' Clear off the checkmark next to 'Disable Script debugging (Other).' Remove the checkmark next to 'Display a notification about every script error.' Click 'Apply.'
6. Insert the HP printer installation disc and reinstall the printer software.
7. Reboot your computer to finish the troubleshooting.
