How to Get Rid of Mshtml.dll

1. Double-click the 'My Computer' icon and navigate to the system folder for your version of Windows. If you're using a 32-bit version of Windows XP or Vista, you can find this folder at 'C:\Windows\System32.' The system folder for the 64-bit versions of these operating systems is located at 'C:\Windows\SysWOW64.' Windows 2000 and NT users should look for 'C:\WINNT\System32' and Windows ME, 95 and 98 users should look for 'C:\Windows\System.'
2. Browse through the folder's contents for mshtml.dll. When you find this file, right-click it and select 'Delete.' Alternatively, you can drag and drop the file into the Recycle Bin.
3. Click the 'Start' button in Windows and select 'Run' from the Start Menu. When the Run window opens, type 'cmd' in the empty field and click the 'OK' button. This will open the command prompt.
4. Type 'regsvr32 /u C:\Windows\System32\mshtml.dll' if you're using 32-bit XP or Vista. If you're using 64-bit XP or Vista, type 'regsvr32 /u C:\Windows\SysWOW64\mshtml.dll' instead. Type 'regsvr32 /u C:\WINNT\System32\mshtml.dll' if you're using NT or 2000, and type 'regsvr32 /u C:\Windows\System\mshtml.dll' if you're using ME, 95 or 98. Press 'Enter' at the end of this line to unregister mshtml.dll from the file system.
