How to Repair ActiveX

1. Close all open programs before beginning any downloads or repairs to prevent loss of data.
2. Run a virus scan. This can be one cause of the problems with ActiveX. When the scan is complete, restart your computer to see if ActiveX is running properly.
3. Check your operating system to see if it is compatible with the program you are trying to run.
4. Reinstall the program that has the ActiveX error.
5. Increase the security settings to protect from unauthorized access from ActiveX programs.
6. Clean the registry of ActiveX programs no longer used. Before cleaning the registry, it is recommended to back up the system in the event you accidentally remove an ActiveX program that your system needs to run properly. If you are not comfortable with this process, there are tools on the Internet you can download for free to clean the registry.
7. Download and install a repair tool for ActiveX. Run the scan. If errors are found, choose to repair and then restart your system.
